In March 2002 Keyvan and I visited Iran. For Keyvan this was the first trip back to the country he left almost 17 years ago. For me it was the first time I met my in-laws, whom for 14 years I only knew from pictures, videos and an occasional short phone conversation. For both of us this was an unforgettable experience. What follows here is the experience of our visit to Iran in images, through Keyvan’s eyes, and in words, through my eyes.
